My journey with yoga: I began taking yoga classes back in 2004. I was nervous and uncertain. Were others going to judge me? Was I going to be able to do all those poses? After a few classes, I was quickly drawn in. I rapidly noticed that all my fears were the complete opposite of what actually goes down in a yoga room. I felt warmth, I felt acceptance, and I felt connected.
I was introduced to Ashtanga Yoga and fell in love. My teacher was patient, yet challenging. She always taught with humour and grace. I began to notice an expansion of my own inner strength and calmness after each class. Yoga became my outlet while allowing me to see the connection between mind, body and spirit.
The idea of becoming a Yoga teacher entered my mind and I began dreaming of what it would be like to lead my own class. Could I help others feel as great as I was feeling? I went on to take my 200 hr Tantra Vinyasa YTT in 2015 at 108 Yoga Studio in Halifax, NS.
I have taught at various studios in the HRM and co-hosted yoga retreats both locally, at Windhorse Farms, and internationally, in Tulum, Mexico.
I incorporate yoga into my everyday life, taking note of the beauty that surrounds me, constantly seeking out tiny slices of joy, coming back to my breath when needed, and I strive to live a life of awareness and connectivity. In my classes, you will feel loved, awakened, and deeply connected to the inner guidance found within your heart.
